We seek to educate
our students within a family-centered Catholic community. We commit
ourselves to Gospel values as we seek to develop our students' intellectual
gifts and foster their spiritual growth. Our aim is to prepare our
students to lead creative and productive lives which contribute to the growth of
both God's kingdom and our nation.

Our Philosophy
The
Administration, Faculty, and School Board of All Saints Regional Catholic
School believe that a Catholic School should create a community in which
both culture and knowledge are illuminated by faith and shared in an atmosphere
of concern and trust. Our purpose is to foster the intellectual and
spiritual growth of children and thus free them from ignorance, prejudice,
and fear. Our aim is to help those with whom we deal to become responsible
Catholic and Christian members of society.
We
bear witness to the values of life proclaimed in the Gospel -- love of
God and love of one another. Our concern is to develop individuals
capable of leading productive and creative Christian lives. We seek
ways of enhancing the potential of each person, implanting in each the
desirability of a way of life based on moral and ethical principles.

Our
Students
- Affective
(or Spiritual) Attributes
We
witness to the teachings of Christ by word and example as we help our students
to deepen their relationship with God and respect the beliefs of all humankind.
Our school day opens with a prayer. The school community participates
in regularly scheduled liturgical and prayer celebrations. The study
of religion is required of all students. In our varied disciplines
and school activities we inculcate charity, honesty, respect for the dignity
of persons, and social responsibility.
- Intellectual
Attributes
We
have high expectations of all students and set clear guidelines for achievement.
Our goal is to instill in the students a love of learning and a commitment
to use their intellectual abilities to their fullest potential. Courses
of studies are organized and developed to meet the academic needs of students,
and to expose them to models of excellence in all relevant fields.
Opportunities are provided for a variety of positive learning experiences
to encourage the development of individual talents. The curriculum
challenges students to think independently and fosters thoughtful, informed
discussion and responsible decision making within the framework of Christian
values.
- Personal
and Social Justice Attributes
Students
are directed and encouraged to take responsibility for their actions and
to be accountable to the school, community, and family. A sense of
personal integrity, discipline, and justice in word and deed is promoted
in each student. Respect for the individual is reflected in all aspects
of school life, while the principles of honesty and truth govern all relationships.
We encourage students to recognize, appreciate, and develop the qualities
inherent within themselves and others. We provide not only the opportunity
for sharing diverse talents, but also encourage the development of effective
student leadership and service to others, particularly those in need.
- Physical
Attributes
We
instill in each student the need for proper nutrition, rest, exercise,
and healthy hygienic practices. We provide a physical education program
for grades K-8. The science curriculum is designed to address students'
awareness of contemporary health issues.

Educational
and management policies are clearly defined by the Education Department
of the Diocese of Rockville Centre, and are stated in the Administrative
Manual. The administration and faculty adapt and refine these policies
to meet the particular needs of the school. Procedures for their
implementation are stated in our Faculty Handbook, and parents are made
aware of policies by means of the Parent Handbook.

Curriculum
guidelines issued by the New York State Education Department and by the
Diocese of Rockville Centre serve as a basis for the curriculum.
Excellence is encouraged beyond New York State standards by an enriched
program.
The
administration and faculty of the school are responsible for the development
and implementation of the curriculum. In order to achieve its goals
and meet the individual needs of the students, faculty meet to discuss
issues pertaining to curriculum development. Meetings are conducted
to enable teachers to insure continuity from grade to grade with regard
to instruction in all subject areas. The academic program is evaluated
to determine its effectiveness in solidifying the goals of the school.
The
primary goal of instruction at All Saints Regional Catholic School is to
provide learning experiences that will develop the values, knowledge, and
skills leading to the student's moral, intellectual, social, physical,
and emotional growth.

The
teachers at All Saints Regional Catholic School are responsible for the
creation of a positive and supportive atmosphere, and for the organization
and instruction of learning activities that are in keeping with our educational
policies and curriculum. Teachers are encouraged to meet this challenge
in a professionally competent and consistent manner, while at the same
time, using their own special gifts, individual teaching style, and creativity.
Instructional materials are selected by the teachers and administrators.

Our
Relationships
- Student
and Student Relations
We
believe that the relationship between students have with one another is
an important part of their experience at All Saints Regional Catholic School.
Cooperation among students and respect for each other are encouraged.
Supportive relationships are fostered by the many services older students
perform for younger children. This leads to mutual respect, caring,
cooperation, encouragement, and generally excellent school spirit.
Student responsibility is evident in the student council organization,
service programs, and big brother/big sister program.
- Student
and Teacher Relations
In
addition to good teaching, the goal at All Saints Regional Catholic School
is to serve as Christian role models who exemplify fairness, concern, and
sensitivity. We encourage creativity, offer daily support, respect
individual differences, learn to disagree agreeably, and carefully listen
to students' needs.
- Teacher
and Parent Relations
At
All Saints Regional Catholic School we believe that a relationship of openness,
mutual support, and respect is our most valuable asset in shaping the student.
Teachers and parents meet formally to discuss student progress during report
card conferences and informally at other mutually agreeable times.
Continuous contacts and open lines of communication are vital to maintain
satisfactory parent-student-teacher relations.
- Teacher
and Teacher Relations
An
open, supportive understanding among the teachers is valuable in our role
as educators and models. We at All Saints Regional Catholic School
treat each other with professional courtesy and personal concern.
There is flexibility in scheduling, daily support of one another, and an
exchange of both teaching ideas and disciplinary styles. We strongly
believe in the importance of developing a sense of Christian community
among ourselves as a faculty.
